Casinos and Used Car Sales: The Criminal Justice System

The Accused, Part 6 of 12

Every person accused has the same Constitutional rights from a speeding ticket to a Murder charge. The right to Due Process, the Right to Equal Protection of the law and the right to a Trial by a Jury “of his peers.” Every person in the country has equal rights, even if they are not Citizens of the United States or do not have legal immigration status.

By design, Jury Trials, and the criminal justice system, are inefficient and expensive. Why? To avoid and prevent mistakes with people’s lives. Everyone agrees that dictatorships are efficient and save money. A dictator just dictates that someone committed a crime and the dictator imposes quick punishment. If a mistake is made….too bad.
